Class Description

Stencils are a great way to add texture and recognizable imagery into your artwork. In this 4-hour class, you will learn how to properly use and create your own stencils. Be amazed by the cool design possibilities when masking shapes with tape or recycled materials. Melissa Stephens will guide you step-by-step on how to cut out your own original stencil. When you register for this 4-hour class, you will also have access to Melissa's abundant pre-made stencil collection. There is no limit to your imagination when adding colorful stencils to your encaustic paintings. The media possibilities are endless as well with encaustic paint, pastels and pigment sticks, to name a few! This class is full of information and hands-on instruction, but also includes time for experimentation and exploration. You will quickly realize the incredible effects of layering multiple stencils while exploring color, shape and pattern. Students can create up to 3 paintings. No previous art experience necessary. Must be 18+ years of age.

Classes cannot be refunded, but you can contact Melissa at least 24 hours before class time to reschedule.
