Class Description

Time to get started in encaustic with a traditional painting twist! Paint with molten wax and a heat gun at an easel to create beautiful artwork. In this 5-hour class students will also explore design and drawing with a heated stylus. This class is for creative people interested in learning how to paint with expressive detail. Discover how to build layers for texture, interesting content and surface tension. Melissa Stephens will demonstrate walk you through each step to paint, fuse and illustrate with a heated encaustic stylus. This class provides plenty of time for you to explore great drawing and painting tools while sharpening your skills with heating techniques that add to the visual excitement of your artwork. No previous art experience necessary. Must be 18+ years of age.

Classes cannot be refunded, but you can contact Melissa at least 24 hours before class time to reschedule.
